the Lincoln Home
Award Winning Cuisine Overlooking the Damariscotta River
Riverside dining is always an anticipated experience at THE LINCOLN HOME. Nothing is better than enjoying a Chef inspired, locally sourced meal with family or friends and dining by a window that overlooks the water.
Our vision at The Lincoln Home and Harbor View Cottage is to ensure that our Residents experience the greatest health gains achievable through culinary means. We find that healthy, tasty food choices can favorably alter the course of health and disease, enhance the quality of life and even reduce or eliminate the need for some medications.
We are committed to providing a wide variety of whole, minimally processed foods while maximizing nutritional value, flavor, and presentation.
Residents help plant our kitchen gardens providing us with fresh herbs and vegetables.
Our upscale menu includes local seafood, dairy, eggs and year round produce from community farms to ensure the freshest food is brought to our table. Menus reflect care and imagination. Favorite requests, birthday deserts and special diets are always honored. Healthy snacks and beverages are always available.
Our Staff wants to be certain that the Residents feel empowered in their food choices as well as introducing them to new, healthy alternatives to classic favorites. Recipes that people grew up with can be modified to be a healthier version with all the flavors they love and crave. Once a month our Culinary Director, Jamie Baribeau, meets with Residents welcoming their suggestions and feedback. It gives them a chance to talk about what they like or dislike about their dining experiences at The Lincoln Home. Whether it be food choices, seating arrangements, times that meals are served, special requests…this is their time to voice what they feel we could be doing better. One of the discussions resulted in us offering more “ethnic themed” meals which have turned out to be so much fun for the residents as well as the Culinary staff!
